DESCRIPTION:OBJECTIVE\nThis customized program is designed to introduce public safety personnel to the skills required to safely deploy department watercraft in the support of divers. We customize this program to ensure students acquire knowledge of the specific watercraft and equipment used by your department during operations. \nPREREQUISITES\n\nMember of a public safety agency\nAt least 18 years of age\nProof of Dive Rescue 1 Specialist Certification\nComplete RSTC Medical Statement (including physician signature\, if applicable)\n\nBRING TO CLASS\nAll students will need: \n\nU.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)\nA knife\nA whistle\nAdequate clothing for working outside\nPen and paper for taking notes and sketching\n\nDiving students must provide their own equipment: Wetsuit or dry suit\, scuba regulator: recently serviced + environmentally protected with alternate air source (i.e.: octopus)\, timing device\, depth + submersible pressure gauge\, BC with oral/power inflator\, 4 tanks with current Hydro + VIP\, mask\, snorkel\, fins\, weight belt + 2 cutting tools (knife\, wire cutters\, or trauma shears).
