SUMMARY:Visual Cylinder Inspection
DESCRIPTION:OBJECTIVE\nThe Visual Inspection Program trains and prepares personnel to complete specialized SCUBA and SCBA cylinder inspections. Inspection subjects that will be covered include damage limits\, neck cracking and laws affecting inspectors. This course meets OSHA and DOT requirements for employee HAZMAT training. Participants receive the Visual Cylinder Inspector certification (through PSI-PCI) valid for 3 years. \nMAIN TOPICS\n\nCylinder Inspection\, Guidelines\, and Standards\nUse of Specialized Inspection Equipment\nHands-On Cylinder Inspection Lab\n\nPREREQUISITES\n\nMember of Public Safety Agency\nAt least 18 years old\n\nBRING TO CLASS\n\nPen & Paper for note taking\n2 SCUBA/SCBA cylinders with valve\nEach student should have the required Tool Kit that includes:\n\nPit gauge\nMirror\nWelt probe\nFlex light\nThread brush\n\n\n\nKits may be purchased (mailed to you before class) or borrowed. Participants will be able to plan and execute an emergency ice diving operation; select\, evaluate\, and perform field maintenance on ice diving equipment; and dive safely under ice in order to complete a rescue/recovery mission.
