Ice Rescue Trainer

OBJECTIVE

Equip your department with the knowledge and skills to become effective ice rescue responders. This comprehensive three-day, 24-hour Ice Rescue Trainer course is tailored for public safety personnel, covering essential standards found in NFPA 1006 and 2500. Graduates gain practical training to confidently return to their departments, prepared to instruct their teams in safe and efficient ice rescue techniques.

PREREQUISITES

• At least 21 years of age
• Member of a Public Safety Agency
• Proof of current First Aid and CPR training

BRING TO CLASS

All students will need:

• U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation
• Device (PFD)
• A knife
• A whistle
• Adequate clothing for working outside
• Pen and paper for taking notes.

If the student has access to a cold water rescue suit or dry suit, they should bring it to class. It is advised that students bring a dry set of clothing.
