Visual Cylinder Inspection

OBJECTIVE

The Visual Inspection Program trains and prepares personnel to complete specialized SCUBA and SCBA cylinder inspections. Inspection subjects that will be covered include damage limits, neck cracking and laws affecting inspectors. This course meets OSHA and DOT requirements for employee HAZMAT training. Participants receive the Visual Cylinder Inspector certification (through PSI-PCI) valid for 3 years.

PREREQUISITES

• Member of Public Safety Agency
• At least 18 years old

BRING TO CLASS

• Pen & Paper for note taking
• 2 SCUBA/SCBA cylinders with valve
• Each student should have the required Tool Kit that includes:
  • Pit gauge
  • Mirror
  • Welt probe
  • Flex light
  • Thread brush
