Aquatic related emergencies can happen during any season, any time. Here is your chance to thank a public safety diver or public safety professional who made a difference in your life, or the life of someone, including a pet, that you love. This can also be for a member of your department who deserves a shoutout!

Story County Sheriff's Office
Aaron Kester has been a leader for the Story County Sheriff's dive team for 12 years. He is the mastermind behind the whole operation and instrumental in our call outs and training. He has a vast knowledge of everything from diver safety to all the dive equipment. He is always putting in extra time and ensuring that we have the best equipment. He's not only a great leader but is a great team member and is very much respected by his peers. Our dive team would not be the same without him.

Anchorage Fire Department
When I was in second grade, the firefighters of the AFD came to our class and taught us how to Stop, Drop and Roll, along with crawling beneath smoke, feeling doors and door knobs before opening them, and establishing an emergency plan. Later that same year, our garage had a fire caused by a faulty engine block heater in the car. Everyone got out safely as the AFD put out the fire.
