Students in this class will discuss how to maintain and repair minor tears, punctures, and holes in vulcanized rubber, polyurethane, and trilaminate scuba dry suits. There will be a demonstration of wrist ring, cuff seal, neck seal, and hood installation. Leak testing procedures will also be addressed. Glue and patch materials will be provided for training use during the class.

The Dry Suit Repair training class can be customized for Swiftwater Dry Suits upon request.

Course Objectives:

• Hands on, step by step repair of dry suits commonly used in Public Safety Dive operations
• Replacement of dry suit hood and neck seal
• Replacement of wrist cuffs
• Sealing of punctures using patching materials
• Chest mounted high pressure inflator valve and shoulder mounted dump valve concerns
• Trimming seals to fit

Prerequisites: must be 18 years of age.

• Necessary replacement parts
• Dremel-type moto tool
• Dremel #952 tapered grinding stone
