Swiftwater Rescue II

OBJECTIVE

Students should have strong swimming skills and be prepared for multiple challenging in-water scenarios. All students are required to have basic swiftwater rescue skills. Dive Rescue International’s renowned program for public safety swiftwater responders teaches the knowledge and skills needed to successfully organize and manage inherently dangerous and complicated swiftwater rescue events to maximize positive outcomes.

PREREQUISITES

• At least 18 years of age
• Member of a Public Safety Agency
• Proof of current First Aid and CPR training
• Swiftwater Rescue I Certification

BRING TO CLASS

All students will need:

• U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
• A knife
• A whistle
• Adequate clothing for working outside
• Pen and paper for taking notes
