Suunto Wireless Transmitter and Tank Pod Recall

Suunto Recall

Suunto, the Finnish dive computer manufacturers, are recalling all their wireless tank pressure transmitters and and tank PODS. These instruments, which transmit tank air pressure to compatible Suunto dive computers, have a potential safety risk. In two reported incidents, the exterior case of a Suunto wireless tank pressure transmitter has failed during regular dry land pressure testing. Although rare, this represents risk of injury due to bursting.

Anyone who has either a Suunto wireless tank pressure transmitter or tank POD should take their products to an authorised Suunto dive dealer service centre for inspection and upgrade. The process is free. You shouldn’t use your transmitter or tank pod before the upgrade has been made.

As a complementary service, Suunto will provide a battery replacement free of charge and a one-year warranty from the date of inspection for all upgraded products.
